Overview
Talent & HR Specialist role at Workiz. This role will be the first dedicated HR hire on the ground in our New Austin hub, with a primary focus on driving full-cycle recruitment for local teams, while also managing essential HR operations and office support. This is a unique opportunity to shape the HR foundation in a growing location.
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus – ~80%): Lead end-to-end recruitment for roles across customer-facing and operational teams. Source candidates, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviewing, manage offers, and drive onboarding.
- Sourcing: Utilize channels including social media, job boards, referrals, and direct sourcing to identify and attract qualified candidates.
- Partner with Hiring Managers: Work closely with managers to understand team needs, build strong pipelines, and provide a proactive, data-informed recruiting strategy.
- Champion Candidate Experience: Ensure every candidate touchpoint reflects our culture and values with timely, clear, and personalized communication.
- Drive Employer Branding: Represent Workiz in the Austin market—build presence through social media, job boards, and direct outreach.
- Optimize TA Processes: Identify opportunities to streamline recruitment workflows, tools, and reporting.
- Manage Vendors: Oversee relationships with external recruiting partners and agencies as needed.
- HR Operations & Office Ownership (Secondary Focus – ~20%): Local HR Support: Be the primary HR contact in Austin, handling employee lifecycle support, basic employee relations, HR documentation, and compliance tasks in partnership with the global team.
- New Hire Onboarding: Partner with managers and the enablement team to deliver a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience.
- Office Experience & Culture: Maintain a functional and welcoming office environment; coordinating team events, employee milestone celebrations, and engagement activities.
- Admin & Coordination: Provide administrative support across HR functions, including meticulous employee record management and collaborative assistance with IT and Finance.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, in a fast-paced, tech-driven company — a must.
- Hands-on experience sourcing talent using LinkedIn and other professional sourcing tools.
- Proven track record managing hiring processes across multiple levels and departments.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end HR operations and administrative best practices.
- Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Passion for creating a great employee experience and supporting inclusive, employee-first initiatives (Preferred).
Nice to have
- Experience with tools such as Comeet, Rippling, Personio, LinkedIn Recruiter, or HireEZ (Advantage).
- Experience working in an agile, fast-paced start-up environment
- FSM and/or SaaS experience.
- This is a hybrid role: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in our Austin office, with Monday and Friday remote.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 per annum.
