$14.00 - $17.56 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure Harmons’ customers leave the store with a positive experience. This person will scan items quickly and accurately, handle money and give correct change, bag produce and other items, keep their check stand clean and organized, promote the Foodie Club Card, and provide exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
2. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all front-end areas.
3. Stock check stands with bags and supplies.
4. Scan items accurately and efficiently.
5. Bag produce and other items if a courtesy clerk is unavailable.
6. Ensure pricing accuracy for scanned items.
7. Handle money and give correct change to maintain a balanced till.
8. Promote the Foodie Club Card at each transaction.
9. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
10. Assist customers with questions and locating items throughout the store.
11. Understand and apply Harmons’ policies for checks, gift cards, WIC, etc.
12. Assist as needed to support the overall success of the store.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with "go-backs" and perform other related job duties as assigned.

WORK CONTACTS:

• Interact daily with store associates and customers.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred:

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• Basic math skills for making change.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback and be accountable.
• Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, self-directed, and collaborative mindset.
• Customer, product, personnel focus, detail-oriented, consistent, and forward-thinking.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Work is performed in a store environment with potential exposure to hot or cold conditions. Must be able to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, reach, perform repetitive motions, and respond to inquiries. Standing, walking, bending, and maneuvering objects up to 30 pounds are required.
