The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in communal spaces, restrooms, work areas, and outdoor spaces as assigned. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, polishing surfaces and floors; trash removal; restocking supplies; and cleaning restrooms.
*Work takes place 60 miles off coast on San Nicholas Island

$17.78 per hour plus $4.93 fringe benefits allocated towards insurance and 401K!

Key Responsibilities
- Clean spaces, floors, fountains, sinks, kitchens, and coffee areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
- Return moved furniture and items to their original positions.
- Collect and dispose of waste in designated trash areas and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
- Clean furniture, partitions, radiators, equipment, railings, grills, ledges, sills, walls, doors, glass surfaces, light fixtures, hardware, metalwork, chalkboards, and framed pictures up to 7' high.
- Perform special cleaning services for fountains, sinks, counters, and exterior surfaces of appliances and furniture.
- Move and replace rugs and floor coverings prior to and after cleaning.
- Perform floor care including sweeping, dust mopping, vacuuming, spraying, buffing, damp mopping, waxing, and scrubbing.
- Service restrooms, laundry, and locker rooms ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and stock levels.
- Clean exterior entrances and paved surfaces, removing debris and spills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Adhere to company policies, OSHA, NEC, and safety standards.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
- Understand and follow instructions and labels on cleaning chemicals.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of custodial experience in the last three years.
- Overnight stay on San Nicholas Island (3-5 days).
- Ability to travel via plane, helicopter, or boat to the island.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Dependable attendance.
- U.S. citizenship for access to military installations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, stand, twist, stoop, squat, walk, and lift overhead.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, and standing may be required.
