Overview

This is a part-time position with various hours/shifts covering morning, afternoon, and/or evenings depending on needs of GMCF.

Minimum Qualifications

• Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
• Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Operate small equipment, such as floor polishers and lawn mowers.
• Operate hand tools and power tools, such as drills, circular saws, and grinders.
• One-year prior experience, or training, in janitorial services or building and grounds maintenance.
• Must receive a score of at least 70% on a skills test given by the DMSS to verify that the minimum requirement is met.
• Possess current, valid chauffeurs license, CDL or a Wisconsin Class D license.
• Comply with all Facility policies and procedures. Comply with all policies and procedures as may be established by your Director.
• Comply with all safety, universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures.
• Respect rights.
• Present a friendly, calm, cooperative, positive manner.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for janitor call-ins which includes mandations.
• Perform frequent lifting, with weights occasionally up to 40 pounds.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Timely completion of all job assignments.
• Sweep and mop.
• Receive, unload, and store deliveries of supplies and equipment.
• Waste collection.
• Monitor boilers, air handling units, and other equipment.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Grounds maintenance, such as snow shoveling, lawn mowing, sweeping, and raking.
• Minor plumbing, electrical and general maintenance and repairs.
• General carpentry.
• Replace DMSS call-ins when needed.
• Paint.
• Assist Maintenance as directed.
• Strip, rinse, and wax floors.
• Requisition supplies as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly and safe work environment.
• Immediately report malfunctioning or unsafe, or suspected malfunctioning or unsafe, equipment or conditions to supervisor.
• Attend required in-services.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Complete all daily assigned duties following the respective shifts continuous work schedule.
• Attend respective shift daily huddles.
• Drive the facility van for transfers or supply runs.
