Job Title: 352 - Helper, Janitor

Employer: Goodwill of Colorado

Job Description: Janitorial services in various facilities including factory/laundry working areas, offices, or other premises. duties include cleaning, maintaining orderly conditions, and minor repairs as applicable.

Pay: $17.75/hour

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30 pm, one weekend day a month or as needed.

DailyPay: This position is eligible for Daily Pay; employees can access earned wages on their schedule.

Eligibility for Benefits: For positions working under the Federal government contracts covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA), fringe benefits include medical, direct primary care, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, and retirement. Paid time off includes vacation, sick, holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) retirement contributions are available. Must be 18 years of age to participate.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems (reporting those that exceed "minor").
  • Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Clean and restore interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water with commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
  • Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after hours, monitor electrical appliance use).
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
  • Notify managers of major repairs or additions needed for building systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Education: A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: 6 to 12 months of custodial experience preferred.
  • Other: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Prolonged standing, repetitive motions, lifting up to 50 pounds (occasional up to 75 pounds), and related physical demands.
