Position Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager or designee, the Utility Worker/Janitor is responsible for providing janitorial service support in an environment that offers opportunities for people with different abilities to work with integrated teams and receive work support as needed, aiming for the highest level of independence possible.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, restock, and empty trash. Safely operate cleaning equipment. May be assigned to label and dilute chemicals used and maintain cleaning supplies.
• Contribute to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the supervisor, and using feedback to improve performance. Perform duties with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
• Safely operate the dishwasher, pots and pans, power sink, and garbage disposal.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and twist while performing cleaning tasks and related duties.
• Maintain and organize chemical and equipment storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner; ensure proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals; inform the supervisor or manager of needs for equipment or supplies.

Requirements

• Pay and schedule: Rate of pay: $17.20 per hour. Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–1:00 pm. Part-time: 20 hours per week.
• Ideal candidate: This is an ideal position for an individual with a documented disability or those receiving Social Security/Disability benefits; candidates with a documented disability will be strongly considered.
• Other: All veterans are welcome.
• Physical requirements: lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs; pushing and pulling up to 30 lbs.
• Other requirements: must be 18 years or older; pass criminal background checks and various state/federal registry checks.
