Working location: Little Creek

Pay: $18.78/hr

The Team Leader - Janitor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of subordinate staff in the maintenance of the Federal contract. This person plans, assigns, and directs work to be done in accordance with contract requirements, Didlake's policies and procedures, and applicable laws. In the event supervision of subordinates is required at a different or sub-location on the contract, the Team Leader may be required to utilize personal transportation to and from the sub-location with all travel reimbursed (at the applicable rate) by Didlake Inc. on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Supervision of subordinates at a different sub-location on how to perform assigned work and use equipment and supplies appropriately.
  • Routinely utilize personal transportation to and from sub-locations with travel reimbursed by Didlake Inc. on a monthly basis. Transporting supplies, equipment, or personnel is not a requirement.
  • Cleaning floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets.
  • Replenishing bathroom supplies and floor supplies.
  • Setting an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
  • Assigning tasks and issuing supplies and equipment to staff and inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment from the Project Manager.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems of employees and customers; referring to supervisor as necessary.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
  • Operating power equipment such as two-stage snow blowers.
  • During inclement weather, providing proper upkeep by removing snow from walkways, building entrances and dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
  • Fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Ensuring appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedure.
  • Completing required paperwork and documentation.
  • Completing and maintaining all required Didlake training.
  • Acting as a good steward of employer and government resources.
  • Following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of equipment and other activities.
  • Participating in establishing Employee Support Plans with the Workforce Support and Development (WSD) team for supported personnel and maintaining plan confidentiality requirements.
