Overview

If you are an Executive Assistant looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Houston, TX, Rogerdale location, you will perform broad, multifaceted, and complex administrative duties responsibly and confidentially, increasing the efficiency of the President.

Responsibilities

  • Handles projects of an administrative nature which require extensive confidentiality, discretion, and independent judgment. Requires a high degree of accountability due to the extent of areas support by the President’s position
  • Schedules appointments and coordinates arrangements for travel, meetings, and conferences. Manages the President’s calendar and coordinates with Emerson representatives as required
  • Communicates daily with personnel from all levels of the organization, Emerson Enterprise, Business Units, externally to Emerson Impact Partners, and other key collaborators to complete assigned tasks
  • Coordinate and prioritize Americas and global team events and meetings (e.g. President’s Club, Business Reviews, customer events, employee events)
  • Assists in preparing and submitting expense reports
  • Organizes and expedites flow of paperwork through President’s office. Responds to correspondence and request, outlining specifics of what needs to be completed and/or instituting follow-up action
  • Screens calls, correspondence, and/or visitors. Answers routine questions, furnishes information, and directs inquiries to the appropriate department. An in-depth knowledge of the business, policies, procedures, and personnel is involved. Acts as the first point of contact to outside inquiries
  • Composes correspondence, prepares reports, and presentations requiring information from a variety of sources and where the format is usually not defined, and conducts special projects
  • Assures that correspondence properly represents company standard procedures through use of good English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading
  • May provide work direction to other office employees in the work group
  • May support other World Area President leadership team members in full or partial capacity
  • May serve as the backup for other assistants in the team as needed
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

For This Role, You Will Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience (GED)
  • 8+ years of broad administrative assistant experience, including executive-level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

  • Administrative assistant training and/or college education preferred
