Cedarhurst of Columbia, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Assistant Executive Director at our Cedarhurst of Columbia community.

As an Assistant Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director in overseeing all aspects of daily operation, overseeing the business office, ensuring alignment with the company’s values, and driving performance excellence.

Working with the Executive Director, you will impact the lives of our residents by:

  • Managing the functions of the business office, including assisting with sales, conducting tours, and participating in community events.
  • Participating in planning and implementing strategies for efficient and effective community operation.
  • Assisting in developing the Operating and Capital Expenditure Budget and ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Preparing regular financial and operational reports to inform leadership.
  • Serving as the primary telephone and office receptionist as needed.
  • Supporting the Executive Director in management tasks and acting in their absence.
  • Managing HR tasks, including applicant tracking, onboarding, training, disciplinary actions, and workers' compensation reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Maintaining employee files and ensuring accurate payroll submissions.
  • Reconciling credit card transactions and coding receipts.
  • Submitting change requests and resident billing in a timely manner with proper documentation.
  • Tracking and billing resident accounts for charges.
  • Handling guest meal sales transactions.
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents and families regarding billing and contracts.
  • Addressing payment issues and assisting with insurance submissions.
  • Maintaining communication with residents and their organizations to meet their needs.
  • Managing community property responsibly and safeguarding assets.
  • Maintaining accurate resident and employee records.
  • Ordering office supplies as needed.
  • Performing physical tasks as required, including standing, moving, communicating, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

To qualify as an Assistant Executive Director, you will need:

  • At least two years of managerial experience in a senior care community, with proven leadership skills. State licensing is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and initiative skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and be on call.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Prism, Kronos, Yardi, and EHR systems.
  • Experience with accounting functions such as A/P, A/R, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience with payroll processing and HR functions is a plus.
