Overview

Case Picking (EPJ or Reach) Shifts

Schedules: Monday-Thursday 5AM-3:30PM ($18/HR); Tuesday-Friday 5AM-3:30PM ($18/HR); Monday-Friday 4PM-12:30AM ($20/HR).

Job Purpose

To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and in order; maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; load/unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures; ensure shipments are staged, checked, and loaded properly; store stock in the warehouse; provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers. Maintains forklift safety at all times following safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Operate sit-down forklift and/or EPJs.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Load and unload RJW trucks/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into storage racks.
  • Work from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
  • Record and verify accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently following OSHA regulations and RJW safety policies.
  • This includes wearing seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.
  • Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and damage; alert Supervisor of any problems and take pictures if necessary.
  • Report all accidents/incidents, damage to stock, or building to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spot trailers to maintain yard organization and equipment flow for the day.
  • Maintain access to dock doors inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality are essential.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime and providing coverage to other shifts.
  • PC skills helpful.
  • Experience with sit-down forklifts/EPJs is required.
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross-docking freight processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit-down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
  • Good stable work record.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
