Oak Hill Congregate Site Coordinator (Urgently Hiring)

Position overview: The Congregate Site Coordinator will greet seniors, prepare the center for the lunchtime meal service, ensure health and safety standards are met, and maintain a pleasurable environment. The role includes administrative tasks, assisting participants with forms, and completing required paperwork accurately and on time.
Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (15 hours per week, no weekends). Occasional in-office meetings at Meals on Wheels Central Texas, 3227 East 5th Street.
Location: Oak Hill, 8656 W Highway 71, Austin, TX 78735
Pay rate: $15.00/hour
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
- Greet seniors and prepare the center for the lunchtime meal service.
- Complete administrative tasks and assist participants with forms.
- Complete other required paperwork accurately and submit on time.
- Complete a required Intake Form for every new eligible congregate participant and report confidential data to the program office; ensure forms are accurate and complete.
- Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate effectively with others.
- Maintain awareness of safety and body mechanics as applicable.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- One year of office experience
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Dependable transportation
- Regular and dependable attendance
- Experience with volunteers and elderly clients (preferred)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and committed to the goals of Meals on Wheels Central Texas
Work environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled office and includes occasional visits to the main office downtown.
- Able to travel locally as needed.
- Able to walk and stand for long periods; able to exchange accurate information with staff, clients, and others.
