Overview
Atrenne Computing Solutions, LLC based in Brockton, Massachusetts, is an innovative leader in system architecture for computing platforms, designing and manufacturing solutions for the military, industrial and telecom industries. We are currently seeking a Welder/Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our Fabrication Team. Reporting to Atrenne's Sheet Metal department supervisor, this position performs a wide variety of electrical arc, inert gas and heliarc welding, in addition to Sheet Metal Mechanic fabrication duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up equipment and weld aluminum parts, using Heli-arc, TIG welding equipment, to Mil-STDS close tolerances and high level of complexity, following engineering drawings or specifications.
- Ensure efficient workflow with awareness of product schedules and material flow.
- Provide feedback to Production Supervisor or Process Engineering regarding the need for fixtures and/or the quality of the equipment.
- Perform first piece inspection.
- Sheet Metal Mechanic duties include setup and operation of equipment such as Amada RG Series Brake with 9CNEX Back Gauge, producing parts according to blueprint specifications.
- Determine tooling requirements.
- Maintain equipment, production output, and Quality Assurance logs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow prescribed safety rules and company policies at all times.
Education and Required Experience
- High school diploma with training at a vocational/technical school; welding certificate and 2 - 3+ years experience.
- Requirement to currently hold or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire a NFPA Hot Work certificate.
- Forklift training certificate helpful.
- Basic computer knowledge to track project hours and look up information on internal databases.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to record workflow router data.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and use hands; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Assistance required for greater weights. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration and risk of electrical shock; noise level is usually very loud.
