Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Administrator to join our team to ensure the smooth operation of our waste transfer. The Waste Compliance Administrator will support the business to meet new environmental compliance requirements for waste transfer. This role focuses on the accurate handling, recording, and management of hazardous red transfer permits and waste movement records across three key clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process, review, and record hazardous red transfer permits.
  • Maintain accurate records of waste transfers across three key client accounts, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (clients, waste carriers, regulators) to obtain, verify, and file all necessary documentation.
  • Create and maintain structured filing systems (electronic and paper-based) to support compliance audits.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to log, track, and report on permit status, waste volumes, and transfer activity.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports and client updates as required.
  • Monitor deadlines, alerting management to outstanding or overdue documentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of processes relating to waste documentation, record-keeping, and compliance reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous administrative experience in an environmental, or waste management setting (desirable but not essential).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in an office-based environment, as well as part of a wider team.

Pay

£21,000 to £26,500 per year
