Job Summary:

DDC is seeking a qualified Waste Management Program Lead to direct hazardous and regulated waste operations in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage waste collection, storage, profiling, packaging, transport, and disposal.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation including manifests and compliance reports.
  • Conduct routine inspections and waste minimization evaluations.
  • Supervise waste technicians and ensure safety and training compliance.
  • Develop and provide training to the organization on waste management, spill response, waste identification, and labelling.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in RCRA hazardous waste management.
  • Current 40 Hours HAZWOPER (29 CFR1910.120), RCRA, and DOT HAZMAT Transportation (49 CFR 172) Certifications.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour General Industry Certification.

Required Expertise:

  • Full cradle-to-grave oversight of hazardous waste programs.
  • Experience with lab packing of complex chemical inventories.
  • Ability to conduct compliance checks in daily, weekly, and monthly waste storage areas.
  • Proper identification, labelling, and packaging of regulated wastes.
  • Proficiency with computer programs to manage, track, and account for wastes.
