HDR, Inc. is hiring: Solid Waste Section Manager in Woodcliff Lake

We are hiring a Solid Waste Section Manager for the NY/NJ Area. HDR is ranked by ENR as a top Waste Management firm. This senior role involves developing and leading the operations of the Solid Waste Section, including staff development, financial performance, team morale, quality control, client and project management, and business development.

In this role, you will:

• Manage operations of the production section, including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control, and marketing support
• Function as Project Manager, overseeing project production and management responsibilities
• Provide technical leadership and administrative oversight for section staff
• Coordinate with other business groups and sections
• Manage financial performance, including profitability and receivables
• Participate in marketing planning, proposals, and client interactions
• Ensure all work is planned, organized, and controlled through proactive project management
• Implement company policies and develop technical personnel
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with regional and national marketing and operations teams
• Engage with industry trade associations and promote brand awareness
• Travel to other offices and clients as needed
• Perform other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field
• PE License
• At least 10 years of experience in solid waste facilities, planning, or program management, including project management
• Waste-to-Energy experience is a plus
• Experience managing staff and working on NYC Sanitation facilities is preferred
• Zero waste certification or experience is preferred
• Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience
• Professional registration or certification as needed
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments

The salary range for this role is $91,000 - $202,500, depending on location and experience.
