We are searching for a motivated & experienced Production Waste Technician.

The Production Waste Technician collects and weighs dough from the production and packing lines to account for waste dough. Operates forklift and electric pallet jack to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move waste or packed materials. The individual must perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Observe abnormalities on the lines where excess scrap is generated and report to production supervision as necessary.
  • Reset the waste dough scales and know all equipment functions, including individual scales and the floor scale.
  • Oversee waste collection paperwork and submit reports on time.
  • Distinguish between various types and areas of waste collection for proper data recording.
  • Operate the waste module lift to dump full containers into waste trailers.
  • Monitor and complete the Waste Dough Confirmation report to ensure trailers are filled to the proper weight.
  • Monitor buckets containing flour for dusting and refill as necessary.
  • Sift non-contaminated flour using electrical sifters and forklift to recycle.
  • Work with QC checkers and line leads to identify waste types and perform root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend company meetings (safety, production, department).
  • Report problems or complications to supervision.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

In addition, all positions are responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards for quantity and quality, in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Following safety policies, GMP regulations, and OSHA lock-out/tag-out requirements.
  • Maintaining food safety and safe handling practices; food safety training is mandatory. Knowledge of SQF code is required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED. 2-3 years forklift operation experience.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
