Location Description

Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled, and curds.

Responsibilities

• Operate 1-3 houses.
• Keep houses clean.
• Ensure chickens have proper water, feed, temperatures, and that houses are clean and maintained.
• Maintain daily charts on water, temperatures, and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with supervisor and maintenance team.
• Keep all feed chains operational at all times.
• Replace burned-out light bulbs.
• Maintain cleanliness of catwalks and manure pits.
• Keep fans, screens, and motors clean and protected with shields.
• Remove and count all dead chickens daily.
• Assist with manure operations if required.
• Operate manure equipment (GG1).
• Report major maintenance issues immediately to the supervisor.
• Follow safe work practices, GMPs, maintain sanitation, and ensure product quality.
• Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Travel to and work at multiple locations.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: No prior experience or training required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Effective in small group presentations.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.

Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out oral instructions. Deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to lift 20 lbs. in each hand and carry for at least 250 feet. Capable of bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
