Fuel & Waste Coordinator

The Fuel & Waste Coordinator is responsible for managing & tracking fuel supply, distribution, and solid waste services across the North Slope. This role ensures reliable availability of ULSD, gasoline, DEF, AHF, and Jet-A, while maintaining compliance with environmental and operational standards. The coordinator manages drivers, tracks inventory, supports special projects, and provides reporting and analysis.

Essential Duties:

  • Order, coordinate, and track project-wide fuel (ULSD, Gasoline, Jet A, AHF, DEF) and solid waste needs.
  • Schedule and supervise bulk fuel and spreader truck transfers in accordance with Client Fuel transfer procedures.
  • Oversee fuel distribution to facilities, contractors, and mobile equipment.
  • Maintain adequate fuel tank farm inventories, track and document fuel usage, and solid waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and training requirements.
  • Lead daily pre-job meetings and weekly safety meetings with fuel teams.
  • Perform field audits, inspections, and walkthroughs.
  • Support fueling and waste logistics for temporary and special projects (marine ops, helicopter ops, seasonal projects).
  • Respond to incidents/spills and provide timely reporting.
  • Manage all project needs for ULSD, Gasoline, AHF, Jet-A, DEF, and solid waste.
  • Work closely with vendors, facilities, and contractors to coordinate deliveries and fueling requirements.
  • Coordinate delivery/setup of fuel tanks and specialty items for temporary projects.
  • Provide daily participation in Sim-Ops meetings to communicate fueling/waste activities.
  • Track and maintain tank farm inventories.
  • Maintain detailed records of all fuel usage for projects.
  • Track solid waste pickups, swaps, and usage.
  • Maintain records of mobile equipment fueling.
  • Maintain spreader truck logs to support source-specific tracking.
  • Create site specific SOPs for fueling, fluid transfers, and fuel-based positions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory tank integrity inspections and maintain records for audit readiness.
  • Verify/document that all fuel handlers maintain current annual training.
  • Respond to incidents/spills and provide corrective action reports.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and burn rates for fuels/fluids.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets to track project fuel and waste data.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce waste, optimize fueling operations, and improve safety performance.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Experience:

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerBI

Working on the North Slope:

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
