Note: Must be able to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Highlights of the Position:

  • Work Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.
  • Early start time between 5am-6am.
  • Hourly pay ranges from $21.00 to $23.00, with overtime opportunities.
  • 1 year of verifiable CDL experience required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the collection of waste or recyclable materials, making necessary trips throughout your shift.
  • Transport materials to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities.
  • Handle both manual and automatic trucks.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and maneuver up to 100 pounds, while mounting and dismounting the truck frequently during each route.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience in the past 7 years.
  • Excellent safety record with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Preferred experience as a driver or helper in the waste collection industry.
  • Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with the public and understand traffic signals and regulations.
  • Proficient in reading maps.
  • Meet all physical and safety requirements for the position.
  • Willingness to work required hours as permitted under DOT regulations, possibly including weekends, nights, or holidays.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Routes may involve navigating through crowded communities and tight city areas.
  • Excellent backing and maneuvering skills are essential for success.
  • Regularly climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections to maintain compliance with safety standards set by IWS, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
