Job Description

what you will accomplish

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for coordinating the Accounts Receivables for the hotel. They are also responsible for transmitting these results to the Corporate Office. They will answer guest's questions and anticipate guest's needs.

  • Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
  • Responding to individual guest needs as they occur.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Count and balance cash from overnight drops.
  • Complete deposit paperwork
  • Input various accounting information into spreadsheets.
  • Accurately reports information.
  • Files and stores documents.
  • Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Maintain & tracks gift certificates
  • Follow through on all phone calls received.
  • Assist with various office tasks as needed.
  • Thoroughly completes projects and assignments professionally with care.
  • Adjust to high pressure conditions and is open to change.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Always Conducts him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally; sets standards for all.
  • Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers.
  • Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Scrupulously follows all Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort policies and procedures.
  • Income Journal Reconciliation
  • Reconcile complimentary checks with tracker daily
  • Input complimentary checks and related costs into Profit sage daily
  • Spot-check month-end inventories monthly and upload report to the Month End folder
  • Audit all house banks and upload audited reports into the Month End folder
  • Run and upload all HMS, Silverware, and Resort Suite month-end reports to the Month End folder
great if you have
  • Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Knowledge of all room types and categories.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to actively listen to others.
  • Ability to accurately use various Microsoft Office software and PMS system.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Minimum lifting of 20 pounds.
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
  • Hearing, writing, typing.
  • Minimum pulling of 20 pounds.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Must have knowledge of all hotel departments and events.
  • Must have good mathematical and computer skills.
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required. Additional education preferred. Knowledge of local area required.
  • CPR and first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.

Wage: $30.00
