Client Description
Our client is a fast-paced, professional services company in Boston. The growth strategy is primarily M&A based and they are P/E backed. The Corporate Controller is a strong team colleague. This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant with Public Accounting experience looking to take the next step in their career.
Compensation
Base salary up to 120K plus a small bonus.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close process, financial reporting deadlines, and preparation of variance analysis with emphasis on inventory/cost of sales, including margin analysis
- Review and approve all journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare variance research and narratives for management regarding anomalies in actuals, forecasts, and budgets
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Direct and oversee the lease process, ensuring leases are entered into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner, and thoroughly reviewing all lease reports and reconciliations
- Monitor inventory accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Support other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations to operational issues
- Partner closely with the Controller to support business initiatives
Qualifications
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4-6+ years of experience in Accounting
- Experience in Public Accounting is required
- Local applicant
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy; able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented, team player, solid communication skills
- Manufacturing/inventory experience
- Experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks
