We are seeking an Accounting Manager to provide leadership and oversight of our credit union’s accounting and financial operations. This hands-on role combines leadership, technical accounting, and operational support to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance in all financial activities. The Accounting Manager will oversee daily and monthly accounting functions, prepare regulatory and management reports, and support the CEO and leadership team in financial planning and decision-making. What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements, board and management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including ACH, share drafts, ATM, card services, RDC, wires, accounts payable, and vendor payments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, NCUA, and state regulations; prepare NCUA Call Reports and coordinate annual audits.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and corporate accounts; support investment activities.
  • Supervise and coach accounting staff, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and member experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (banking or credit union experience preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, etc.) required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
