Accounting Manager

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role will have a well-rounded accounting background and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. This position will be responsible for close functions including financial statement analysis, third-party accounting/reporting, internal and external audit compliance, and quarterly reporting. The Accounting Senior Manager will be a valuable partner in building close business relationships with divisional and operational team members to ensure accurate financial statements, and to enhance and establish robust close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, workpaper preparation and analysis, third-party accounting/reporting, etc.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting.
  • Manage financial analysis and ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual external reporting packages for auditors.
  • Create and maintain SOX-related narratives and risk matrices for areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as liaison with internal and external audit teams.
  • Identify process and system improvements to increase close efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for roles and related systems, ERP, PSA, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments to communicate financial results.
  • Partner with divisional planners to ensure visibility into accounting systems for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Understand business goals, objectives, and trends to translate results into accurate analysis.
  • Develop, analyze, and drive business process change across Tyler’s multi-divisional operating base to improve efficiencies.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. CPA required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in finance or accounting, with 3-5 years in people management and leadership.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Public accounting experience and experience with publicly listed companies required.
  • Experience in documenting and analyzing business processes and workflows.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems (e.g., ERP systems, D365, BI tools).
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
