Position Overview

This position is responsible for external regulatory and internal management reporting, transfer agent duties, monthly close of entity books, collateral and borrowing base reporting, financial calculations and analysis, internal reconciliations, processing accounting transactions, and providing general support and backup for the Finance and Accounting Department.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all loan-related accounting and reporting, including problem loans, charge offs and repossessed assets
  • Investment related accounting and reports including purchases, sales, interest accruals and reconciliations to bond accounting system
  • Initiate borrowing transactions, as directed by management, including advances and paydowns
  • Reconciliation of assigned accounts, including daily correspondent bank account
  • Regulatory reporting – planning, preparing and filing Call Report, FY Y-8, FR Y-9, FR Y-6, FR Y-10 and others
  • Management of collateral for borrowing relationships with Federal Home Loan Bank and AgriBank
  • Preparation of internal management reports
  • Serves as backup for Finance & Accounting duties, as assigned, including Accounts Payable and Payroll Processing
  • Responsible for keeping internal work processes related to the position duties up to date

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Accounting or Business (or equivalent work experience)
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or financial services
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial institution operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive mindset with excellent communication skills
