Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of month-end closing responsibilities and day-to-day accounting operations. As a key member of the accounting team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of the department.

Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, policies and procedures
  • Assist in managing the financial close processes including review of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, including coaching, training and performance management
  • Assist in the preparation of audit documentation, tax filings and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies
  • Research accounting issues for accuracy and take corrective action when necessary
  • Address Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable escalations and report on metrics
  • Assist the Controller in meeting all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users
  • Work with department managers to ensure understanding of spend and consistent application of general ledger treatment
  • Assist with optimizing the company’s relationships with corporate credit card company and expense reporting system

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting (of which at least 2 years of leadership experience)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accountants
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

  • Skilled in working with cross-functional teams to affect collaboration, resolution of issues and community building across multiple functions
  • Strong problem-solving skills including demonstrated ability to analyze issues and to work effectively with cross functional groups
  • Curiosity and passion for delivering high quality products
