Purpose of Job:
The Accounting Manager will lead daily accounting operations, such as preparing and reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual internal financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting ensuring accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle general accounting and month-end close duties, including analysis of financial statement variances and metrics
- Prepare internal financial and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP
- Responsible for the overall administration, direction, and integrity of the Company’s daily accounting operations
- Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Review financial statements for operating trends and results in support of the preparation of financial materials to the executive team
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger
- Responsible for researching variances, determining root cause, and making adjustments
- Create, review, and process corporate local, federal, international and multi-state sales tax, as well as standard and non-recurring monthly journal entries to properly record all accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Assist adherence to accounting policies and procedures; establish and monitor key internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist in developing improved processes to increase efficiency while maintaining the integrity of internal accounting policies and key internal controls
- Coordinates efforts to comply with financial internal and external audit and reviews
- Assist in all other compliance reporting requirements
- Assists with payroll review and processing operations
- Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis as assigned
- Other assignments and projects as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5+ years related accounting experience
- 2+ years accounting leadership experience
- Solid technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge in compliance with GAAP
- High proficiency in Excel (macros, pivots, lookups, financial modeling) to organize/analyze and present financial data
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (ACCPAC / Sage 300 and MISys knowledge preferred)
- Experience in high-tech manufacturing highly preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
