Akkodis is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support a client in Plymouth, MI. This is a hybrid, contractual opportunity that requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Rate Range : $20/hour - $25/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Approve eligible expenses and communicate with employees regarding any discrepancies.
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate coding, approval, and timely data entry into the accounting system.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment-related issues.
  • Assist in maintaining organized digital and paper records for audits and reporting.
  • Provide accounting support across various Operating Entities (OEs), adapting to entity-specific processes and requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable/receivable roles.
  • Familiarity with expense reporting tools and accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Concur, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multiple business units or Operating Entities.
  • Knowledge of company-specific expense policies and general accounting principles.
