Highly successful large privately held company in NW Houston is seeking an Accounting Manager who brings experience and an excellent leadership style to lead its growing team of degreed Accountants. The role reports to the Corporate Controller and has room for growth with a proven career path.
The role is 100% onsite with flexibility to work remotely as needed and necessary.
The corporate culture is positive and very employee focused. The attire is jeans/business casual.

Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting staff and oversee processes to include the general ledger accounting activities, month end close and analysis. The role is hands-on accounting with the Manager working alongside the team.
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and corporate reporting standards.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop forecasts and budgets that align with organizational goals.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all financial transactions and reports.
- Delegate or provide responses to audit requests and ensure documentation and support provided, as appropriate.

- Review and approve sales tax payments (TX, LA, OK and TN)
- Provide training and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering professional development and career growth/knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- Proven experience in general corporate & operational accounting to include financial reporting in a complex corporate entity with multiple operating companies and divisions.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Lead or supervisory/manager experience, leading Accounting team members (degreed)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to forecast financial trends accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage staff within a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities.
