Heartland Acoustics & Interiors, a leader in the construction industry, specializes in suspended acoustical ceilings, specialty metal ceilings, and a variety of other architectural systems. We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Manager to join our team at the Corporate Colorado location. This role is crucial in managing our financial operations and ensuring accuracy in our accounting processes. Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions.
  • Work with suppliers on unresolved issues and ensure timely responses.
  • Assist the Controller with cash management and vendor payments.
  • Perform monthly financial pre-close and close-out processes for all branch locations.
  • Manage the general ledger, including processing recurring journal entries and maintaining a consistent chart of accounts.
  • Oversee credit card management and support A/P specialists with reconciliations.
  • Assist with banking responsibilities, including payroll uploads and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure all payroll liabilities are reported and paid timely and manage payroll compliance.
  • Prepare reports for administration, sales, operations, or the president as directed.
  • Supervise accounting functions and potentially oversee accounting specialists.

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of construction accounting experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard accounting reports and legal documents.
  • Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounting functions and personnel.
  • Proficiency in Sage 100 or equivalent accounting software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Preferred: College degree in Accounting or Business or related field.
  • Preferred: Two or more years of management experience.
  • Preferred: Payroll and customer service experience.
  • Preferred: Budget preparation experience.
