The Opportunity

Join us today as an Insurance Accounting Manager. The Insurance Accounting Manager works closely with the Finance Director, the accounting team, and organization leaders to ensure top-of-the-line service. The role involves interacting with insurance companies and clients to keep HUB Puerto Rico’s books up to date. A sense of urgency, attention to detail, and customer orientation are essential to meet service standards.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities include supervising a staff of three accountants, overseeing P&C-related collections, managing monthly and quarterly broker commission payments, handling journal entries during month-end closing, managing premium financing accounting and revenue recognition, and assisting the Finance Director on special projects and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day work of a staff comprised of three accountants.
• Oversee all P&C related collections activities including receiving, analyzing, posting, and depositing all P&C commission statements.
• Oversee and prepare monthly and quarterly broker commission payments and related nuances such as deferred balances; include quarterly producer (employee) commission payments.
• Manage all journal entries during month-end close to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue and expenses.
• Manage all relationships with premium financing and handle accounting and revenue recognition related to these transactions.
• Assist Finance Director on special projects and balance sheet reconciliations.

What You Will Need For Success

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Brokerage industry knowledge
• EPIC System expertise
• At least three years of supervising experience
• Innovative and collaborative mindset that drives productivity improvements
