A prestigious law firm in Century City is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their finance team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounts payable and receivable, particularly within legal environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately record incoming payments (checks, credit cards, ACH/wires, Stripe)
  • Process daily bank deposits and apply payments to appropriate accounts
  • Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices, reimbursements, and client cost transactions
  • Perform general ledger coding and maintain financial records
  • Manage weekly check runs and ACH/wire transfers
  • Maintain vendor profiles and W-9 documentation
  • Set up and update client/vendor accounts, including conflict checks
  • Reconcile credit card and bank statements; resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and clients regarding payments and invoices
  • Support 1099 year-end reporting and tax documentation
  • Organize and digitize financial records (scanning, data entry)
  • Provide cross-functional support to finance, billing, and administrative teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent experience in AP/AR roles
  • Prior experience in a law firm is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with conflict checks and billing/accounting platforms (Coyote Analytics is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and data management systems
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High level of discretion and sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
