Position: Accounting Manager - Six Month Contract
Location: Akron, OH
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, Hybrid - Six days a month in office required
Pay Range: $37.00 to $58.00 per hour
PrideStaff is recruiting for an Akron area healthcare client who is searching for an experienced Accounting Manager to assist on a six-month contract assignment. The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department and a team of 5 whose responsibilities include journal entries and account reconciliation and reviewing accounting reports for accuracy and completeness. The Manager of Accounting performs ongoing statistical analysis, financial analyses, and other advanced accounting functions for the organization. The ideal Accounting Manager will have experience in non-profit organizations, grant management, and donations accounting experience.
Responsibilities:
- Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
- Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains, and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.
- Reviews and evaluates monthly and annual journal entries and reconciliations for propriety.
- Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
- Analyzes and monitors financial data, trends, indicators, and changes in accounting pronouncements.
- Supervises and reviews required surveys such as Department of Commerce, OHA, NACHRI, etc.
- Performs accounting research to determine correct classification of transactions in the general ledger, monthly reporting of expense accounts variance analysis, and preparing and reviewing audit schedules to ensure completeness.
- Responsible for higher level, more complex accounting areas.
Technical Expertise
- High-level accounting experience is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Experience with financial statements and footnotes is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
- Accounting software is required.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master's degree is preferred.
- Certification: CPA is preferred.
- Years of relevant experience: 5 years is required.
- Years of experience supervising: 3 to 5 years is required.
