The Accounting Manager is a hands-on leader and the Financial Operations Principal (FINOP) for the regulated Broker-Dealer. About This Role The Accounting Manager will direct day-to-day accounting functions, including monthly close, regulatory reporting, net income validation, invoice review, compensation, department budgets, investor equity reporting, and quarterly investor reporting. This role includes building and presenting financial status reports to senior leadership and leading internal and external audits. You’ll be responsible for Leading the daily and monthly accounting processes of Bruce Markets finance Preparing daily, monthly (FOCUS), quarterly, and annual regulatory financial filings with our primary SROs, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting Reviewing and maintaining daily capital requirements Developing and maintaining monthly operating budgets and the annual company operating budget Financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and overseeing the month-end close Managing accounts payable and receivable, reviewing large payables, and authorizing ACH and wire disbursements/payments Developing and enforcing internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow Supervising T&E reimbursement processes and policies Preparing and presenting financial results to senior leadership and quarterly investor financials Serving as a point of contact for internal and external auditors and supporting all audits Identifying policies and procedures to improve operational workflows for finance while maintaining regulatory and accounting best practices Participating in strategic or regulatory projects Engaging with Operations, Risk, Corporate Accounting Shared Services, and Compliance to service the needs of the business Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of broker-dealer financial accounting and reporting experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; or equivalent experience Series 27 - Financial and Operations Principal Certification (FINOP) with a clean U4 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and ability to perform technical accounting research as required Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and NetSuite preferred Ability to operate at a high level in a dynamic global organization with changing mandates Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills Desire to be a hands-on manager and collaborate with operations, senior leadership, trading, and risk teams Rewards and Benefits We offer healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision), EAP, competitive PTO, 401k match, parental leave, HSA match, a Calm app subscription, and external learning and tuition reimbursement benefits.
