Litigation Legal Secretary
Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA
Salary Range: $80,000 - $92,000
Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week); hybrid eligible (4 days in-office, 1 remote) after 90 days
Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading California law firm to identify a Litigation Legal Secretary for a high-priority opening in the firm's Los Angeles (Century City) office. This position supports a Practice Group Leader, a Shareholder, and an Associate across a dynamic caseload that includes entertainment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of providing seamless support in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading California law firm to identify a Litigation Legal Secretary for a high-priority opening in the firm's Los Angeles (Century City) office. This position supports a Practice Group Leader, a Shareholder, and an Associate across a dynamic caseload that includes entertainment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of providing seamless support in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars, meetings, depositions, and court appearances for three attorneys
- Prepare and finalize legal documents for filing in both federal and state courts, including e-filing
- Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, and third-party vendors
- Organize and maintain physical and digital case files; track court deadlines and litigation calendars
- Process incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence per attorney instructions
- Handle time entry, expense reports, billing edits, and conflict check forms
- Maintain professional and confidential client communications
- Provide cross-coverage and administrative support as needed
- Minimum 5 years of litigation legal secretarial experience in a law firm environment
- Strong working knowledge of federal and California state court rules and e-filing procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with legal DMS and timekeeping systems
- Ability to support multiple attorneys, including at the partner/shareholder level
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- On-site for the first 90 days; hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) available thereafter
