Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Role and Location

BJC is looking for a Medical Office Secretary position within one of our Internal Medicine Offices at Missouri Baptist. On Site Position — Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Makes office visit appointments, hospital appointments for tests and admissions and obtains appropriate referrals, forms and other pertinent information.
  • Educates patients on procedures for hospital tests and admissions.
  • Dispatches finished medical records to appropriate parties as directed.
  • Maintains records of incoming and completes transcriptions.
  • Takes incoming calls and determines the appropriate care service to administer to patients; manages physician schedules.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • 2-5 years
