Overview

Division and Section
Division – OFFICE OF POLICY AND DOCKET MANAGEMENT
Section – ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROJECT SERVICES
The Office of Policy and Docket Management is split into two sections: Policy Development and Docket Management. OPDM processes orders generated from open meetings and coordinates with SOAH for hearings.
Administrative and Project Services includes a Legal Secretary role supporting attorneys, administrative law judges, and legal staff in preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents, maintaining case files, coordinating filings with SOAH, and supporting hearing schedules and deadlines.
Job Titles and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications:
Legal Secretary II — High school graduation or GED and a minimum of one (1) year legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Legal Secretary III — High school graduation or GED and a minimum of two (2) years legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Legal Secretary IV — High school graduation or GED and a minimum of three (3) years legal secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a legal secretary for a state agency or with a utility company.
- Experience drafting, formatting, preparing and proofreading correspondence and legal documents.
Work Schedule
The PUC operates on a standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternative schedules may be approved at management’s discretion based on business needs. New employees must complete a 90-day probation before eligible to request telecommuting.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The salary of an ERS retiree or non-contributing member may be 6% less than the recommended salary.
