How you'll contribute

A Unit Secretary who excels in this role:

• Establish positive relationships with patient/families/visitors and all members of the healthcare team.

• Answer phone calls in a timely manner, greet and direct visitors.

• Report concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team member.

• Greet physicians and assist in directing to assigned nurse.

• Maintain patient's thin folder.

• Organize and maintain work environment.

• Conemaugh Connect - my chart; assist patient initial setup.

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for patient care.

• Perform secretarial and technical skills required to meet unit specific requirements.

• Maintain proficiency required for Conemaugh Connect powered by Epic.

• Provide Conemaugh Connect Epic support for physicians and extenders.

• Maintain confidentiality of all patient, hospital and employee related information.

• Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost for delivery of patient care.

• Assist member of the health care team with assigned tasks that support patient care.

• Actively participate in patient engagement initiatives.

What we're looking for

• Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED

• 2 years of Administrative or patient care experience
