Overview

Job Summary: The major responsibility is to perform clerical duties on a nursing or clinical unit. The employee will follow confidentiality expectations. They will facilitate an atmosphere of cooperation by being professional, pleasant, and helpful to the staff, patients, and families. Observe all general hospital and departmental policies, guiding principles, rules and regulations. Attend orientation and complete ongoing in-service education as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble new charts.
  • Makes up requisitions.
  • Promptly reports needed repairs to related services.
  • Answers telephone, relays messages and makes necessary appointments.
  • Prepares charts for admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Maintains forms in charts as needed.
  • Communicates with other departments in a timely manner such as PAS and the Bed Board.
  • Orders and restocks unit supplies for the unit.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area not just for themselves but also for the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Schedule: Every Other Saturday (week 2).
  • 8 hours per pay period.
  • Must be available for 2 weeks of day shift training.
  • Float Position.
