Overview
There is an immediate opening for a School Secretary / Office Clerk III in the Counseling Center of East Irondequoit Middle School. This position is 12-months, working 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with a 1/2-hour unpaid lunch.
Responsibilities
- First point of contact for students, families, and district employees visiting the Counseling Center
- Help manage School Counselor calendars
- 504's schedule, update, and document changes in Frontline
- Answer phones
- Work as a team to manage day to day operations of the Counseling Center

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Civil Service title of School Secretary or Office Clerk III or eligible for School Secretary or Office Clerk III. Experience working in a school setting preferred
Qualifications
School Secretary: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Secretarial Science, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (C) Three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) and (B) above; OR, (D) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
Office Clerk III: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER: (A) (B) (C) Successful completion of at least thirty (30) credit hours from a college or university; OR, One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR, An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
