Overview
The Perkiomen Valley School District is seeking a highly skilled and professional Confidential Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent / Board Secretary. This position provides high-level administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Superintendent’s Office.
Responsibilities
- Manage confidential communications and correspondence for the Superintendent.
- Prepare, maintain, and organize official records, reports, and documents.
- Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, and support the work of the Superintendent’s Cabinet.
- Support Board of School Directors functions, including preparation of agendas and materials.
- Serve as the Superintendent's primary point of contact for administrators, staff, Board members, and community stakeholders.
Board Secretary role
This position also serves as the Board Secretary, the official recordkeeper for the Board of School Directors. Responsibilities include:
- Attending all meetings of the Board of School Directors.
- Organizing and appropriately posting agendas for all Board and Committee meetings.
- Recording accurate minutes and maintaining official Board actions.
- Managing contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and procedural requirements related to Board operations.
The Board Secretary role includes a monthly stipend of $500.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support at the executive level.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in office technology, software, and digital recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced demands.
- Prior experience supporting a governing board or working in an educational setting preferred.
Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferable in an educational, government, or executive office setting.
