## **Company :**Allegheny Health Network## **Job Description :****GENERAL OVERVIEW**The unit secretary serves to support and enhance the activities of the nursing unit by effectively communicating, transcribing orders, chart maintenance and maintaining an organized work environment.**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES*** Performs clerical duties related to admission, transfer and discharge, maintenance of patient activities for the records, telephone answering and unit reception. (50%)* Transcribes orders subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary. (40%)* Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding patient care and other issues.
