American Sign Language Interpreter role at Global Impact Group LLC.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite ASL/English interpretation (receptive and expressive) in a variety of settings, individually or in teams, conveying all cultural and linguistic information.
• Convey the thought, intent, and spirit of a speaker to a deaf/hard of hearing person.
• Interpret/transliterate expressively and receptively using manual and oral methods for the deaf and hard of hearing.
• Maintain the confidentiality of information exchanged in an interpreting situation.
• Communicate effectively by signing, orally, and in writing.
• Keep detailed and accurate records. Meet schedules and timelines.

Qualifications And Skills

• Possess advanced, accurate voicing skills to mediate between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) in both directions.
• Be familiar with the terminology and provisions of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Possess skills in a broad range of general interpreting assignments.
• Possess knowledge of a variety of specialized vocabulary including medical terminology, supply chain management technical jargon, and business vernacular.

Certifications

• National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
• Certificate of Interpretation (CI)
• Certificate of Transliteration (CT)
