The Team: The American Girl Retail team provides lifetime memories to American Girl fans and families. Our experiential retail stores offer unique shopping destinations with roles that require innovation, collaboration, and execution. In-store experiences vary by location and may include Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), and hosting Parties/Celebrations. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where decisions impact the team and our customers.

The Opportunity

The Seasonal Part Time Under Host is located at the AG Retail Flagship New York location and reports directly to the Café Manager. This role greets and seats restaurant guests, manages reservations, and collaborates with the restaurant team. What Your Impact Will Be

• Greets guests promptly and seats them by maintaining accurate waitlists while maximizing seating capacity.
• Manages large crowds professionally and resolves challenging service situations diplomatically.
• Creates and maintains a pleasant dining ambiance in the dining and party rooms through lighting, music, and table placement.
• Communicates accurate dining room and party room setup, along with special requests and birthday information, to the restaurant team.
• Shares information on store and restaurant events with guests.
• Uses Zomatoreservation and InfoGenesis register systems, and Microsoft Office, to perform job functions.
• Initiates training opportunities with restaurant staff.
• Assists restaurant staff as needed to provide an outstanding dining experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a restaurant host, hotel concierge, or related customer service position, preferred.
• Computer skills including reservation and POS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and basic office equipment (copiers/fax), preferred.
• Experience working with children, preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The hourly position is offered at $18-18.50 per hour and is based on skills and experience.
