Imperial Valley College is hiring: Part-Time Faculty - American Sign Language Co

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. This role is suited for an exceptionally motivated candidate who demonstrates a genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and possesses a passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. A commitment to creating an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion is fundamental. This position offers a chance to make a lasting impact on our diverse academic community.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

1. Provide instruction in accordance with the approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and course outlines, based on the college's needs. Assignments depend on class availability, seniority, and qualifications, including conducting classes, class preparation, student evaluation, developing course syllabi, assessing student learning outcomes, and related duties.
2. Maintain and submit accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance reports) according to deadlines.
3. Uphold standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
4. Advise students on academic matters.
5. Maintain competency in the field.

Applicants may qualify with education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To be considered for equivalency, submit college transcripts (showing degree awarded or conferred with a completion date) and a complete description of work experience with your application.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree and two years' related experience; or
• Associate's degree and six years' related experience; or
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. Applicants requesting equivalency must complete the form provided in the application packet and submit supporting documentation.

Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
