American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Care, the nation's largest accessible urgent care network, is actively recruiting Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our exceptional team in Worcester, MA Position Overview In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in collaboration with a designated physician. Your work will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a state-of-the-art facility. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician. Collaborate with the physician in the care of patients with chronic illnesses. Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues. Educate patients and families about preventive care, medical conditions, and prescribed treatments or medications. Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records. Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, and referrals. Serve as a Medical Examiner and perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations. Order diagnostic tests as appropriate. Prescribe medications within the scope of the license. Facilitate the evaluation of records by physicians and peers to ensure quality and implement constructive directives. Promote preventive and health maintenance care through education and counseling. Stay updated with current medical knowledge from conferences, workshops, and professional literature and incorporate it into clinical practice. Qualifications Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (PANCE). Experience providing care for patients of all age groups. Proficiency in performing minor procedures. Experience in an urgent care, emergency department (ED), or primary care setting.
