Overview

Position: Housekeeping - Overnight Lobby Attendant

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Salary: $1,000 - $1,400

General Purpose

Cleans and prepares public areas according to an established standard of cleaning to assure guest satisfaction and the overall appearance of the property.

Specific Responsibilities

• Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies for daily use, and maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways to maintain a clean and presentable facility.
• Uses ladders or stools occasionally to clean hard to reach areas.
• Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stalls, wipes exposed pipes, and cleans mirrors, sinks and walls.
• Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities. Restocks literature removed or soiled by guests.
• Washes hard floor areas and performs floor cleaning, including mopping, buffing, and, as needed, stripping and waxing.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and wall hangings; reaches vents and ceiling corners with a duster.
• Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways; operates vacuums up to 25 lbs; lifts/moves heavy furniture as needed to vacuum.
• Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies to protect hotel property.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management; assists other departments to contribute to hotel performance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to maneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and into/out of closets.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to bend down and get on/off the floor numerous times per day.
• Must pass a background check.

Education/Formal Training

• High School Diploma/GED

Experience

• Experience is a plus, but not required.
