Responsibilities include:

  1. Sustain network/information system security through testing, analysis, and application of policy and controls.
  2. Obtain certification and accreditation of systems, including process support, analysis, coordination, security testing, documentation, investigations, research, and audits.
  3. Conduct threat and risk analysis, and analyze the impact of systems and technologies to mitigate risks.
  4. Implement vulnerability assessments and configuration audits to detect security issues.
  5. Analyze, investigate, test, evaluate, and deploy security technologies and procedures.
  6. Run diagnostics on data changes to verify breaches.
  7. Develop custom security systems for software, networks, data centers, and hardware.
  8. Develop and implement security standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  9. Evaluate security certification testing and document security plans and risk assessments.
  10. Perform security incident evidence gathering, evaluation, and remediation.
  11. Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and review analysis results.
  12. Conduct counteractive protocols, report incidents, and customize risk ratings.
  13. Utilize tools like OWASP testing, Dynamic and Static Application Security Testing, IDS/IPS, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Metasploit.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Forensics, or related field from an ABET-accredited institution with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in software security, system administration, security testing, and compliance, with expertise in at least one area.
  • Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE.
