S2 Global, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Cybersecurity Co-Op to work in its Torrance, CA location.

Focused on Operations, Integration and Training, S2 Global’s solutions help customers enhance screening capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effort to assess and define the cybersecurity design requirements for the S2 Global Certscan integration platform and associated hardware/software within a standardized security framework.
  • Assist in defining innovative solutions to secure and support networked products used in diverse settings over long install periods.
  • Analyze, report on and assist in managing security-related risks, including reporting outcomes and proposing improvements.
  • Participate in and assist with development or product test protocols to efficiently assess product vulnerabilities, collaborate with engineering, and recommend remediation alternatives.
  • Work with product engineering teams to help them understand cybersecurity test results and identify remediation techniques.
  • Assist efforts to assess product vulnerability to new threats, identify root causes, and develop remediation strategies; communicate assessments to internal engineering, service teams and external customers.
  • Support standardized processes by preparing and documenting standard operating procedures and protocols to ensure product security throughout design, development, support and use.

  • Report quality problems or defects to management for corrective action to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certification in cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science or related field.
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as NIST 800-53, DHS 4300A, NIST CSF, NIST 800-171, IEC 80001, ISO 27001/5, and/or US government RMF/ATO processes.
  • Experience with vulnerability testing of systems and software is desired.
  • Experience with Threat, Exploit and Vulnerability analysis of products and systems is desired.
  • Technical knowledge of operating systems and network security in physical, virtual and cloud-based (AWS) implementations is desired.
  • Experience with security systems including endpoint security, vulnerability management, network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS), wireless security, authentication, log management, and encryption is desired.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information security concepts and risks; good verbal and written communication in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CCNA Security, or GIAC are desirable.
  • Must meet S2 Global background investigation requirements.
