The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.*## **Job Description**The Montgomery College Takoma Park, Silver Spring, Germantown, Rockville campuses is currently accepting applications for part-time faculty members who can teach Cybersecurity. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated instructors who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. ***\*\*\*Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. \*\*\***** *The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment.** *The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.** *During the academic year part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.** *During summer part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 10 ESH (equivalent semester hour) for both sessions combined.***Duties and Responsibilities:*** Teach undergraduate cybersecurity courses (introductory and advanced), which include but may not limited to: + NWIT 173 - Network Security + NWIT 245 - Defending the Network [Blue Team] + NWIT 263 - Introduction to Digital Forensics + NWIT 230 - Intro to Cyber Ops + NWIT 246 - Attacker Tools and Techniques [Red Team] + NWIT 247 - Introduction to Incident Response + NWIT 275 - Wi-Fi Pen Testing + NWIT 291 - Cybersecurity Capstone* Design and deliver curriculum that emphasizes real-world, applied skills, including labs, simulations, and project-based learning.* Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry trends, tools, and best practices.* Engage students through hands-on instruction using current cybersecurity tools, frameworks, and environments.* Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and success.* Maintain appropriate records of student performance and submit grades in a timely manner according to institutional policies.* Collaborate with department faculty and staff to support student learning outcomes and program goals.* Conduct assigned classes in accordance with the catalog description, the master course syllabus, and the stipulations of the College.* Be available for student consultation.* Participate, when possible, in departmental meetings.* Hold every scheduled class, including the final examination, the full scheduled number of minutes during the scheduled time in the scheduled location.* Maintain standards of teaching consistent with the standards of the department and the College.* Submit a copy of the syllabi, along with the course materials, to the department.* Submit midterm and final grades on time.* Return final exams to the department.**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field* Minimum of 3 years of direct, hands-on industry experience in cybersecurity roles (e.g., security analyst, penetration tester, incident responder, SOC engineer).* Demonstrated proficiency in practical cybersecurity tools and techniques (e.g., Windows, Kali Linux, Wireshark, Metasploit, networking, and firewalls).* Ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner to diverse learners.* Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.* Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the Internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus) \*. Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, and other faculty communications tools. \*If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.* Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Two years of teaching experience as an instructor, assistant professor or higher at a college or university or two years of teaching or training experience in an academic, corporate, or professional setting.* Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field* Current industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, OSCP).* Demonstrated proficiency in virtualization (especially Type 2), digital forensics, and IDS/IPS systems.* Experience with online or hybrid instruction and use of learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).* Experience designing and/or setting up hands-on labsFor degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).As a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire:* Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).*If a reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management at 240-567-5353 or HRSTM@montgomerycollege.edu.
