Overview
The Cybersecurity Engineer Lead - Recovery plays a key role in safeguarding resilience by developing, testing, and enhancing disaster recovery (DR) capabilities that support uninterrupted operations. This role serves as the technical lead for DR planning and readiness, ensuring that DT services—whether on-premise, cloud, or hybrid—can recover from disruptions with minimal impact. The successful candidate will work across IT, cybersecurity, and business teams to implement recovery-focused solutions and lead initiatives that protect the availability of our most critical systems and data.
Location and Hybrid Model
This position follows Oshkosh Corporation’s hybrid work model, with three days in-office and two days remote each week. The preferred location is the Global Headquarters in Oshkosh, WI, with relocation assistance available for non-local candidates. We are also open to candidates based in Frederick, MD; McConnellsburg, PA; Hagerstown, MD; and Orlando, FL.
Your impact
- Lead development and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Manage and execute regular testing—such as drills, table-top, and failover simulations—to validate plan effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments and recovery impact analyses to identify critical vulnerabilities; recommend mitigation strategies and updates to DR procedures.
- Serve as the central liaison between DT, business units, and external vendors to ensure DR plans meet organizational needs and technical realities.
- Oversee documentation, training, and awareness initiatives so staff are prepared and plans are actionable during a crisis.
- Develop and present dashboards and reports on DR status, test results, and continuous improvement metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Six or more years of IT experience, with at least four years in Disaster Recovery planning, execution, and operations within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
Standout Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Management or equivalent.
- Experience leading end-to-end disaster recovery testing for both applications and infrastructure, including planning, coordination, execution, and post-test analysis.
- Hands-on experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to assess critical business functions, define recovery objectives, and support continuity planning.
- Professional certifications such as CBCP, ABCP, DRI-CBCP, CBRITP, or PMP.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based recovery (e.g., AWS), virtualization, high-availability architectures, and ITIL frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to executives and leading training programs.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience with disaster recovery or business continuity tools such as BCIC or similar platforms.
Working Conditions
- This role combines office-based administrative duties with field or production environments.
- In the office, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings.
- Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

Pay Range
$115,600.00 - $196,400.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by factors including experience, education and skills, and the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
